BONOMI WINS THE GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2012

The designer Brian Sironi awarded by the Chicago Athenaeum to the mixer Virgo

The fitting Virgo, designed by Brian Sironi Bonomi Contemporary Italian, won the Good Design Award 2012, the most prestigious and oldest worldwide recognition for the design industry news.
Good Design, registered trademark by the Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design, is promoted in collaboration with the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and is awarded annually to the most innovative products made in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America.
For the 2012 the jury, composed of professionals and experts, industry specialists and specialized press, has selected the winners from among thousands of products from 48 countries around the world. The selection criteria are the same as the 1950: innovation, form, materials, construction, concept, function, utility and sustainability, as well as aesthetic. The winning products are exhibited permanently in the Chicago Athenaeum.

Virgo, line with its supple and easy (Ø36mm pipe from the sink that draws a S up), draws the water flow, the bend of a river, or the combination of female-aquatic. Three models are proposed: Single lever basin mixer, single lever bidet mixer and shower mixer wall.
Even in dynamic supply the mixer Bonomi Virgo differs from the classical taps: water, in fact, protrudes from the body of the mixer,without perceiving a real spout: “the first female mixer”, note!

Bonomi Virgo is only available in chrome finish.

GOOD DESIGN AWARD
The award was created in Chicago in 1950 as Edgar Kaufmann Jr., curator and founder of the Museum of Modern Art in Chicago, in collaboration with architects and designers Ray Eames, Russel Wright, George Nelson s Eero Saarinen.
The product categories considered include electronic equipment and medical, kitchen items and bathroom, sports equipment, home, appliances, grafica e packaging, lighting and urban environments, Construction Materials, furnishings, fashion and textiles, office products, robotics and bionics, Industrial Instruments, vehicles.
Logo, which consists of a circle inscribed in a square and bearing the inscription GOOD DESIGN, it was designed by graphic Mort Goldsholl.

BRIAN Sironi

Brian Sironi was born in Seregno (MI) in 1977. He graduated in Industrial Design at the Politecnico in Milan and continued his education by working with architects and designers. His training is at the heart of Brianza, in contact with various professional design system: carpenters, smiths, carvers, upholsterers. Training half craft and half academic, with a settlement on the territory that is part of its draft and cosmopolitan Italian designer. In fact continues on its way to the United States and on his return, in January 2008, he founded his studio. In his projects focuses on the research of pure forms and facilitating the relationship between product and user. Its purpose is to improve the lives of every day by adding a little 'wonder, a small wonder before the detail of an object or the operation of a mechanism.
In 2010 is selected for the exhibition "The New Italian Design Reloaded" at La Triennale di Milano and the museum Santralistanbul in Istanbul.
His most important project is the lamp thruster produced by Martinelli Luce, who wins numerous awards: Design Award of Stupor part of the Young & Design (2009), the prestigious international IF Gold Award (2010), il Good Design Award (2011), il Red Dot Design Award (2011). It was due to the lamp Elica, only 33 age, in the edition of 2011, awarded the Compasso d'Oro ADI.
